Italian media are adamant Pablo Daniel Osvaldo will move from Roma to Southampton within hours for £15.35m.

Sky Sport Italia, Sport Mediaset and several more sources are confident a deal has been struck with both club and player.

Roma are due to receive €18m plus a further €2m in performance-related bonuses, while Osvaldo is due to sign a contract worth €3m per season.

Osvaldo had been reticent to accept Saints, but was convinced to make the move by repeated phone conversations with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The pair worked together when Osvaldo was on loan at Espanyol and were eager to reunite.

The Italy international who was born and raised in Argentina had also been heavily linked with Inter, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid.

However, Roma seemed most eager to push him towards Southampton after months of protests from Giallorossi fans against the forward.

He always had a relatively poor relationship with a group of the ultras, but that deteriorated beyond repair in recent months.
