“As a young lad I played in many derbies and this is another,” said the tactician who played for Inter from 1984 to 1991.

“It will be a very tough start for us against Milan. We will have to put our weapons on to the pitch. The important thing will be to stay combat and try to hit them quickly on the break.

“We must remain concentrated for the entire match. The Rossoneri have stronger fitness levels because they already played a competitive game against PSV Eindhoven.

“We have to run harder than anyone else and play at the top level.”

Samuele Longo, the Under-21 international striker on loan from Inter, is in the squad and ready for his Hellas Verona debut.
