Mock the Quotes: Is Buffon taking the....?

Gianluigi Buffon keeps clean, Stefano Mauri loses another bet and Carlo Ancelotti is a ham as Susy Campanale finds the week’s strangest statements.

“It’s not as if I went to someone else’s house and urinated on my friend Francesco Totti’s locker!”

Gigi Buffon points out the Roma ultras banner ‘Disinfect Trigoria’ was not to be taken literally after Juventus borrowed their training camp

“My vision of football is more projected towards the future than Andrea Agnelli’s, so we see some things differently.”

Lazio President Claudio Lotito might want to see an optician

“I will cheer on Lazio from the stands instead.”

We hope Stefano Mauri didn’t bet on his Lazio teammates in the Super Cup...

“I am settling in well in Madrid. The ham is very, very good.”

Carlo Ancelotti knows where his priorities are – generally on the end of a fork

“Delio Rossi is a footballing teacher.”

Yes, Antonio Conte, one who still believes in corporal punishment

“What a grand farce...”

Erik Lamela’s girlfriend Sofia Herrera tweeted – and quickly deleted – what every Roma fan was thinking at the squad presentation

“Leaving Roma for Southampton wasn't difficult, not at all. In fact, from the moment I signed, I was relieved…”

As were the Giallorossi fans, Dani Osvaldo

“If someone acts like a cretin, he’ll be in the minority. However, if Balotelli provoked people a bit less, then it would be even better. There are many black players, but not all of them stoke the ire of the opposition fans. Most have no problems. Balotelli is very good at making himself unlikeable.”

Mayor of Verona Flavio Tosi shows solidarity with racist fans by proving himself to be an ‘unlikeable cretin’

“My first official match on the Inter bench gave me a great sensation, but it was embarrassing when I was heading for the wrong bench. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I hadn’t asked Diego Milito beforehand which one it was…”

Walter Mazzarri also used a sat-nav, but couldn’t help himself

“Cristian Chivu would be willing to go, but only in exchange for compensation.”

Hey agent Victor Becali, how about Inter get compensation for all his days off injured?

“Conte has always shouted at me! I need a Coach who shouts and always demands more, as it brings the best out of me.”

Stephan Lichtsteiner’s ideal tactician is Gordon Ramsay

“We’ll do everything to go through, because we have years of work behind us. If it doesn’t go well, we’ll have to concentrate on something else.”

Francesco Guidolin may as well just flick straight to Plan B next time

Have your say...
True what you say about udinese they are a small club and need to seel to survive but take a look at last season they were impressive in serie a finishing above the likes of roma and inter and so deserve their euro spot but as soon as they play in it they go out the answer is simple they are not interested in the euro league hence why they let Italy down!

Not a tifosi of Udinese but the ones calling them a disgrace need a reality check. They sell because they need they money, they don't win Serie A titles or Coppa Italia trophies so they need they money, hence the selling. Why do you think AC sold Ibra & Silva? They didn't just wake up one morning and decide to shoot them selves in the foot. They needed to cut the wage bill. Well so do Udinese..

Funny how fools call Udinese a disgraced team! LOL

They are one of the rare teams that play beautifully in Serie A..

Disgraced clubs are the ones with much larger budget who failed to land above Udinese in Serie A, no need to name..

don't be dissing Udinese. They're a small club team that does not have the revenue they need to be keeping talent and staying at the top of serie a. Diss the big clubs like inter who have the financial resources and can't even make it to the level that a small time Udinese team can reach. In order for them to survive they have to sell their talent - that Is just the nature of their organization. that makes them special is they sell their best players and still make it to the top 5 in serie a

Udinese a joke in Europe again! Why do they even bother to turn up?

One of the main reasons Italian football hasn't been progressing in the last 5-6 years is because every time Udinese get into Europe they start selling their players and get knocked out of the first round, I hope they get relegated next year, a disgrace to Italian football.

Udinese are indeed a disgrace.they've let Serie A down repeatedly losing out on such valuable coefficient points

Was impressed with fiorentina on Thursday in euro league but as for udinese what a waste of space they look as though they going out at quilifying stage again!! Udinese are a discrace to Italian football don't know why they bother in Europe and against some unknowns what a joke!! I'm just hoping they don't get into Europe again this season, but hope Milan come good against psv but can't understand why such a big club like Milan have no money to spend only good buy recently for Milan was balo
