Merkel set to leave Udinese

The agent of Alexander Merkel has admitted the midfielder will probably leave Udinese before the window closes.

The German has been paired with a possible move to PAOK Salonika and Fabio Parisi has told Sport Italia a switch is on the cards.

“There is a half promise to send him to Greece,” the representative noted. “We’ll know a bit more in the next few days.

“Nevertheless, it is likely that the boy will leave Udinese in order to go and play regularly elsewhere.”

The 21-year-old, formerly of Milan, joined Udinese in January from Genoa. However, he’s only been given five Serie A games by boss Francesco Guidolin since his arrival.
