Antonio Conte can’t help but be pleased after Juventus beat Lazio 4-1, particularly the “spectacular opening 25 minutes.”

The Bianconeri pummelled their opponents in Turin this evening with an Arturo Vidal brace, Mirko Vucinic and Carlos Tevez.

It came just two weeks after a 4-0 win over Lazio in the Italian Super Cup.

“Winning again and putting another four goals past Lazio is a sign of our growing form, both as a collective and as individuals,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are shaking off the heavy workload of pre-season training and have won all three of our official matches. Today we were facing a tough opponent who always made us suffer. It’s a victory that gives us confidence, but we must never let our concentration slip.

“We started very strong, particularly the spectacular opening 25 minutes in terms of intensity and organisation. When 2-0 up we conceded an unlucky goal from Miroslav Klose that put the brakes on us a little bit.

“Lazio had several shots from distance and we do have to improve on defending those. In possession we cause problems and our opponents often try to hit us on the counter-attack, but we did well to prevent those.

“We still need to improve, as in some stages there wasn’t enough pressure from the midfielders and we went too deep.”

The Coach was asked about his Press conference on Friday, in which he complained the club forced him to sell Alessandro Matri and Emanuele Giaccherini.

“I just reflected on the situation, that’s all. We need to concentrate on Serie A, as it’s going to be tough this year and we want to give our fans more to celebrate. There will be some squad rotation, so we need everyone.”

Conte also confirmed Luca Marrone will leave Juventus, but “he didn’t tell me where he was going.”
