Fiorentina youngster Ahmed Hegazy is out for six months after suffering a relapse of his right knee injury.
The 22-year-old Egyptian centre-back had already undergone cruciate ligament surgery in December 2012 and made his comeback in May.
However, Fiorentina announced today he picked up a knock in training and damaged the same ligament again.
The Viola released a statement announcing Hegazy – whose name is sometimes written as Hegazi – needs an operation to reconstruct the ligament.
It will require around six months on the sidelines for the ‘Egyptian Alessandro Nesta.’
