FIGC President Giancarlo Abete will “meet with Cesare Prandelli before the World Cup to discover his intentions.”

The Coach promised today his future would not “become a soap opera,” as speculation continues to grow he will leave the Italy job after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

“Obviously we will meet with Prandelli before the World Cup to discover his intentions,” Abete told Sky Sport Italia.

“There is great clarity between us, so there will be no problems. He has done very well so far and we hope he can remain with us as long as possible.”

Prandelli’s contract expires in June 2014, but the candidates to replace him include Massimiliano Allegri, Alberto Zaccheroni, Fabio Capello, Roberto Mancini and Francesco Guidolin.

The Azzurri play the Czech Republic this evening and a win would mathematically book their place at the World Cup.
