“I always wanted to play for the Seleccion and in Italy everyone knows I am from Argentina,” said Icardi.

“The only Italian thing I have is a passport. I am here because Leo Messi is injured and I want to make the most of this opportunity.”

Argentina will face Peru and Uruguay over the next few days in their World Cup qualifiers.
