Rafa Benitez has commented on how he has changed Napoli’s style from last season under Walter Mazzarri.

The Spanish tactician was brought in over the summer to replace the Inter-bound Coach, and the former Liverpool man has remarked on how he has transformed the Partenopei.

“Napoli ended last season nine points behind Juventus” data-scaytid=”4″>Juventus,” he told AS. “The team played a different style – playing with five defenders and focusing everything through Cavani.

“We have changed the way the team plays, preferring to keep the ball. Cavani’s departure was no bad thing because it was a great piece of business and major players came in.

“We play a 4-2-3-1 but what matters most is the game. We want to exploit the spaces that are offered to us and try to be solid defensively.

“Even if Juve remain the strongest team we are the club that has spent the most money. The football has improved in Italy.

“The level had lowered, but now there are teams that play some nice stuff like Rome. It is a difficult League, on a tactical level, and then the likes of Tevez, Llorente and Gomez joined to increase the overall standard.”

Benitez concluded by talking about his brief spell at Inter.

“My experience at Inter was down to a number of factors – the age of the team, the broken promises from the board. We won two titles, so I couldn’t have done much more.”
