“Boss Rudi Garcia is always giving the example of Atletico Madrid who have won eight in a row, but won’t necessarily go on and win the Liga.

“We need to think about us, who once won 11 games on the trot but still ended that season in fifth place.

“If we continue like this then we can have our say at the highest levels.

“But we still haven’t won anything yet – even if perhaps a few of the big clubs are now scared by us.”

Roma, who have scored 22 goals and conceded just one, will travel to Udinese this weekend.
