Alessandro Matri has finally opened his account for Milan, but he’s more concerned with the defeat at Parma.
The summer signing from Juventus had yet to score for the Diavolo before rippling the net in the 3-2 reverse at the Stadio Tardini.
“The goal was important for me, but in the end it didn’t count for much as we lost,” the former Cagliari man noted.
“The goal looked good to me and let’s hope that it’ll unblock me mentally.
“When I came on the pitch, I wanted to change the game with my teammates. I got the goal but not the result…
“Now we want to get back as soon as possible. We’ll analyse the match on Monday and we’ll prepare for Wednesday’s game.
“There’s a lot of disappointment, but the squad is solid. We’re not getting the results, but the most important thing is the togetherness of the team and that’s where we’ll start off from.
“Time will be the judge.”
The San Siro giants are tenth in the standings, having collected just 11 points from nine games. They are 16 points adrift of leaders Roma and 11 shy of the Champions League zone.
Milan will entertain Lazio in midweek.
