Christian Maggio has conceded that winning four games may not be enough for Napoli to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.

“It’s a tough group,” the Italian international noted to Radio Marte. “We could get 12 points and still go out…”

Arsenal and Napoli have nine points from four games, while Borussia Dortmund have two wins with six points left on offer.

“A draw is all we need in Germany next, but it won’t be easy,” Maggio stated after the 3-2 win over Marseille last night.

“We’re happy with the three points, even if a little disappointed to have yet again conceded from a set-piece.

“The important thing was that there was a reaction from us, even if Arsenal’s win [in Dortmund] has slightly complicated things for us.

“The win against Marseille improves our morale for the Juventus game and we’ll think of the Bianconeri from now.”

The right-back was also asked for an opinion on new boss Rafael Benitez, the man who replaced Walter Mazzarri at the San Paolo in the summer.

“Benitez is different from Italian Coaches, he has given us something extra. We are calmer ahead of games and we always give 100 per cent in games.”
