Higuain targets Napoli history

Gonzalo Higuain is keen to lift silverware for Napoli following his switch from Real Madrid.

The Argentine was netted for €37.5m in the summer as a replacement for the Paris Saint-Germain bound Edinson Cavani.

“I’m here to make history for this club,” the centre-forward noted. “I want to win for the people of Naples, to pay them back for the happiness they have given me since I arrived.”

Napoli went into the international break with a 3-0 loss at Juventus, but they could qualify for the knock-out stages of the Champions League with a draw at Borussia Dortmund next week.

“All games are important for us,” he said of his Napoli side who are third in Serie A, four points behind leaders Roma.

“We know, for example, that we can’t make any mistakes against Parma.

“It is true that the championship is long, but we need to win so that we go to Dortmund with hope.”
