Danish police claim the Copenhagen fan stabbed in Turin ahead of the Juventus match was injured in an altercation with other Danes.

The supporter told Exstrabladet he had been in a group of visiting supporters having breakfast when they were attacked by five or six people.

He decided not to press charges with the local police or even go to the A&E for medical treatment, preferring instead to attend the Champions League game.

Now La Gazzetta dello Sport states Danish police confirmed the stabbing occurred during an altercation between drunken Copenhagen fans in Turin and did not involve any Juventus ultras.

Police at the Juventus Stadium also stopped three Danish fans who had hidden fireworks in their shoes.
