“We were worried about this draw and perhaps we had reason to be. Having said that, the history of the World Cup shows Italy have always done well when there have been difficult situations.

“You don’t need to be an expert to see Italy certainly did not have a fortunate draw, but it can act as further motivation and I am sure we will do well.

“We’ve got to take it one game at a time.”
