“This is a delicate encounter against a prestigious side that is coming off not entirely satisfying results, which will only further motivate them,” warned the Coach in his Press conference.

“Therefore, considering Inter have superior quality, we must put even more determination and hunger into our performance. A strong team with character is never sated and always wants to do better.

“At San Siro it won’t be enough just to be quite good. We need to be aware of that.”

Cassano fractured his nose and underwent surgery last week, but is determined to start against the club he left over the summer in fairly bitter circumstances.

“These injuries can happen and over my career I broke my nose three times,” revealed Donadoni. “Once it was just before a European Championship.

“He really cares about taking on Inter and being at San Siro. He’s in good shape and can push his teammates on too.

“The important thing is that games like this are not seen as an opportunity for personal revenge, but simply of challenges against opponents of a high level.”

Daniele Galloppa, Joel Obi, Stefano Okaka and Nicola Pavarini are unavailable for the trip, while Walter Gargano and Jonathan Biabiany also face their former club.
