They could also be paired with Marseille – who progressed at the expense of Inter – Benfica and Apoel Nicosia.

The draw for the Champions League will start at 10.45 GMT and the Europa League draw will follow at 12.00 GMT.

Italy did hope to have three sides in the last eight of the European Cup, but Inter went out on the away goals rule to Marseille and Napoli, despite being 3-1 up from the first leg, lost 4-1 at Chelsea.

Udinese were dismissed from the Europa League last night when they lost 3-2 on aggregate to AZ Alkmaar.
