Chievo boss Eugenio Corini is full of respect for former club Torino ahead of this weekend’s Serie A meeting.

Toro are seventh in the table after winning three of their last four games and losing just one of their previous seven.

“They deserve their placing in the table,” Corini, who played for Toro between 2007 and 2009, told La Stampa. “I’m happy to see them flying so high.”

Chievo have improved since Corini replaced Giuseppe Sannino last month, but he is fearful of Toro’s attacking threat.

“Ciro Immobile is a fantastic player,” the 43-year-old added. “I would have liked to have signed him last January.

“Alessio Cerci is not scoring right now? That’s true, but he always creates problems for the opposition.

“He is turning into a mature player thanks to boss Gianpiero Ventura.”
