This was against a nine-month ban, handed to the player for two counts of allegedly failing to report attempted fixes in Lazio’s May 2011 games with Genoa and Lecce.
At the hearing’s conclusion this afternoon, CONI have released a statement saying that the panel will reserve making their decision at the moment.
The Italian Football Federation’s legal representative Luigi Medugno commented that details of the appeal will be released in the coming 48 hours.
But reports in Calcio News this evening suggest that the player could have his ban reduced from nine to six months.
