And despite their ages, the Brazilian full-back has claimed that the pair have to get a call-up from Cesare Prandelli.
“For me, age doesn’t matter,” he told reporters. “Totti has never ceased to show his quality as a player.
“He is as important as ever for Roma.
“And the same goes for De Sanctis – I think they both deserve to go to the World Cup.”
The defender then commented on former Manchester City teammate Mario Balotelli.
“Mario is a great player and has great qualities. If he puts his head in the right place he can be a champion.”
