Whilst confirming his exit this morning with a brief statement, Catania have yet to comment on reports that Rolando Maran has been brought back in.

“Catania announce that they have dismissed from technical management of the first team Luigi De Canio, who leaves with the thanks of our club for his availability and his efforts,” Catania have reported on their official website.

“With Mr De Canio also dismissed is assistant Coach Roberto Rizzo and technical staff Filippo Orlando and Paolo Pavese.”

De Canio leaves Catania in last place in the Serie A standings.
