The former Juventus man has been linked with move away from the Stadium of Light, with Parma and Genoa said to be keen.

And the representative has confirmed that is the case, but has claimed that the diminutive midfielder will stay with Gus Poyet’s side.

“Emanuele is not moving from Sunderland,” Fulvio Valcareggi told Radio Kiss Kiss. “With a pair of victories they can fight for a European place – that’s how tight the League is.

“Lippi wanted to take him to China, but he won’t leave England.

“Giaccherini is wanted by Parma – [sporting director Pietro] Leonardi contacted me because Biabiany could be leaving.

“Emanuele has an important contract with the English club and we want to respect it, despite numerous offers.

“Genoa have also had a look, but I’ll say it again – he remains in the Premier League.”
