Cesare Prandelli hinted Italy should “expect new elements on a technical level” at the World Cup. Did he mean Francesco Totti?

The Coach spoke to Sky Sport Italia and discussed their chances of replicating the 2006 triumph in Brazil.

“If there is a relaxed and protected environment, then we can have our say,” commented Prandelli.

“As for the squad, obviously I haven’t decided anything yet. However, I will not bring a team that is purely physical.

“You can expect new elements on a technical level.”

It is not clear what Prandelli was hinting at, though some have suggested he is referring to a recall for Roma captain Totti.

Another option is Lorenzo Insigne, who is small and lightweight, but with a great deal of skill.

Prandelli has said before that his main focus in Brazil will be having players capable of withstanding the heat and humidity, so fitness levels will be key.
