Emanuele Calaio has apologised to parent club Napoli for scoring a late equaliser against them for Genoa yesterday.

The forward, who is on loan at the Grifoni from the Partenopei, came off the bench in Week 25’s closing fixture to curl a free-kick passed Pepe Reina to secure a 1-1 result.

“The only place where I did not want to score a goal like this was here,” Calaio commented to Sky Sport Italia afterwards, though.

“I am sorry because here I have spent an important time. But when I go on to the field I try to give my best for this shirt and to take away from it satisfaction.

“Is this my best goal? Maybe, the free-kick was beautiful. I am sorry to have scored here at the San Paolo but this is my job.”
