Ancelotti talks up Schalke

Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti says his team will be facing a tough opponent when they take on Schalke in the Champions League.

The Italian tactician is a two time winner of Europe’s premier club competition but is taking nothing for granted ahead of the Round of 16 first leg.

“Schalke are an organised and well-constructed team,” Ancelotti explained.

“They play good football and, most importantly, they are very effective.

“Their squad is also a good mix of quality young players and older experienced players.”

Ancelotti then commented on star player Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Cristiano was angry about missing the last game through suspension,” he said.

“But he has had the chance to have the best possible preparation for this game.

“His physical condition is great.”
