The 3-1 final result at the San Paolo did not reflect the number of efforts Swansea City aimed at the Partenopei over the two legs.

“In defence we always try to find a balance, but ultimately we are an attack-minded team,” the goalkeeper told Mediaset.

“We played very good football. Swansea had a lot of possession and that is why we suffered too much. Was there a moment when I feared we wouldn’t make it? Yes, the whole game!

“When a team is tight and presses at the same time, it becomes difficult for the defence. Our objective is to help the whole team work as a unit to help the defence. We mustn’t keep leaving gaps between the lines.”

Napoli will face Porto in the Europa League Round of 16.

“Both Swansea and Porto are top level teams. Porto do have more of a name, a set of fiery fans and an important club behind them.”

Reina is only on a season-long loan from Liverpool, but wouldn’t talk about his future.

“We’ve already talked too much about that. I am here until June, it is an honour for me and my family to be here. Then the two clubs will meet and decide my future.”
