Rafa Benitez was “convinced Swansea would cause us problems” and noted a psychological difference between them and Napoli.

The first leg ended 0-0, while in the final minutes Gonzalo Higuain and Gokhan Inler secured a 3-1 victory at the San Paolo.

“I was convinced Swansea would cause us problems. I expected a difficult game, but we remained tight and didn’t get too stretched out, so we looked for and found the spaces to win the match,” Benitez told Sky Sport Italia.

“Swansea had nothing to lose and came to Naples without pressure, whereas it was a different situation for us.

“We tried to pass the ball around, whereas they could just attack us en masse and throw caution to the wind.

“In many games we controlled the ball this season, but it was complicated today because they had quick counter-attacks.”

Napoli go forward and will face Porto in the Round of 16.

“They will always be a strong side and their League is packed with Brazilians, so there’s a lot of technical quality,” noted Benitez.
