Antonio Conte was not pleased with the defender being named in the Azzurri squad to face Spain after only just coming back from injury.

But the centre-back has insisted that episode has been forgotten about.

“These are situations and misunderstandings that can sometimes be created,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’re all friends. This has been resolved peacefully.”

Chiellini then commented on Juventus’ bid for the Scudetto and Conte’s importance to the club.

“We know we have two important weekends coming up. But we’ve made an important step towards the title.

“We have a great advantage but we are aware that we can’t be complacent.

“We try and take Conte on to the pitch with us. We all hope he stays with us. I can’t see a future without him.”
