“In the first leg we deserved to win and this goal arrived at the end, so I don’t see why the opposite shouldn’t happen here,” he said of their 1-0 home defeat.

“I don’t know this stadium, as I only came here once before. I remember a summer friendly where we won 11 to 10 on penalties.”

Galliani was also asked about last night’s dinner meeting with Real Madrid patron Florentino Perez amid rumours he discussed Mattia De Sciglio.

“No, we above all talked about basketball and said we’d meet up for the Final Four in May, but if we progress in the Champions League then we may well see each other before then…”
