Udinese sporting director Christian Giaretta has backed Antonio Di Natale as an outsider for Italy’s World Cup squad.
The veteran striker netted his 10th goal of the season on Sunday as the Zebrette beat Sassuolo 1-0.
And despite his retirement from international football, the club’s board member has claimed that Toto can do a job for Cesare Prandelli’s men in the summer.
“I think Toto is one of the five best players in the League,” he told Calcio News. “He decides games – that’s the bottom line.
“Physically he’s fine, so I can’t think why not.”
Giaretta then commented on rumours that Luis Muriel could leave for Milan at the end of the season.
“At this moment, there has been no contact from any team.
“It’s normal that the lad wants to play more, but he just needs to be patient.”
