Livorno released a statement confirming a meeting with Stefano Bandecchi, but denied the club was already sold.

Earlier this evening Bandecchi and L'Università Niccolò Cusano claimed “the negotiations with President Aldo Spinelli are 99 per cent defined.

“The remaining one per cent is to be attributed to technical issues that we hope can be resolved as soon as possible by our respective consultants.

“L’UniCusano thanks President Spinelli for the opportunity offered to us.”

However, a few hours later Livorno released their own statement clarifying the situation.

“AS Livorno Calcio announce that today President Spinelli had a first meeting with Bandecchi, general manager of the Universita Cusano, which was exclusively exploratory.

“At the end of the meeting, the two parties pledged to see each other again in order to deepen all aspects relative to the eventual sale of the club.”

Meanwhile, TMW claims former Livorno striker Igor Protti will return to the club as the new director of sport if Bandecchi takes over.
