Serie B side Bari are desperately seeking a new buyer and it’s rumoured fashion icon Giorgio Armani is considering it.
The club is in administration and will go bankrupt this summer unless a new buyer can be found.
There have been two auctions so far to find a winning bid, but no concrete proposals have come in and time is running out.
A social media campaign using the hashtag #compratelaBari has spread awareness of the problems at this once great club.
According to Tuttosport, one of the figures interested in buying Bari is fashion designer Armani.
He is already involved in sport as the patron of basketball team Olimpia Milano.
Bari had been playing in front of tiny crowds at the Stadio San Nicola, but since their bankruptcy was announced the numbers swelled, enthusiasm in the city is sky high and the team is also achieving great results.
They are in the running for a place in the promotion play-offs.
