Sven-Goran Eriksson has insisted that England have ‘absolutely no chance’ of winning the World Cup.

The Swedish Coach was in charge of the Three Lions at the 2002 and 2006 tournaments, but believes that this current vintage will do well to get to the quarter-finals.

“They are not winning, absolutely not winning,” he is reported as saying by The Guardian.

“They are not going to win the World Cup, absolutely not. If they get to the quarter-final or more it’s a success.

“Anything more than the quarter-final would be a tremendous success. There are many teams that are better than England.

“I don’t think they can win the World Cup.”

Roy Hodgson’s team have been drawn in Group D alongside Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica. They face the Azzurri in Manaus on June 14.
