Sinisa Mihajlovic reportedly wants to veto Sampdoria’s latest apparent interest in Antonio Cassano from developing further.

The Blucerchiati were linked with re-signing the Italy international in January and have once more been reported as considering making a bid during the summer transfer window.

Talks held yesterday between new President Massimo Ferrero and Ducali sporting director Pietro Leonardi were believed to be primarily based on resolving Jonathan Biabiany’s co-ownership, but speculation was that Cassano’s name was also brought up.

However, where it is understood that Parma are willing to move the 31-year-old out, Samp are reported now as less than enthusiastic.

Tuttosport believe that the playmaker’s potential return to Marassi is not favoured by Coach Mihajlovic and that he is looking to veto Samp’s interest out of a fear Cassano may prove a disruptive influence in the dressing room.
