The fallout from Luis Suarez’s bite on Giorgio Chiellini continues, as a poker firm drop their sponsorship deal with the Uruguay man.

The forward was caught on camera during his country’s eventual 1-0 win over Italy this week biting down on Chiellini’s shoulder, for which he has now received a four-month ban from world football.

Whilst his club side Liverpool are reported in England as considering legal action against FIFA on the basis that an offence at international level has resulted in a club ban, attention is also on Suarez’s sponsorship deals in place.

Betting firm 888 Poker warned earlier this week that they were ‘seriously considering’ their partnership with the player and have now confirmed their intention is to end it.

“Regrettably, following his actions during Uruguay’s World Cup match against Italy on Tuesday, 888poker has decided to terminate its relationship with Luis Suarez with immediate effect,” read the company’s statement released on Friday.

Adidas, who are a long serving partner of FIFA too, have confirmed they will review their deal in place with Suarez after the World Cup.

“Adidas fully supports FIFA’s decision. Adidas certainly does not condone Luis Suarez’s recent behaviour and we will again be reminding him of the high standards we expect from our players,” the German company have confirmed this week.

“We have no plan to use Suarez for any additional marketing activities during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

“We will discuss all aspects of our future partnership directly with Suarez and his team following the World Cup.”
