“We know Brazil are a great team who are playing on home turf, have won numerous titles and live for football,” declared Isla.

“However, we are certain that we will be ourselves on the pitch. Brazil mustn’t think they’ve won before playing.

“We will play our football, based on sacrifice and intensity. Personally, I have already made my dream come true by playing in a World Cup with Chile. My family and I are very proud.”

This is only the fourth time in their history that Chile have progressed beyond the group phase of a World Cup.

The others were 1962, 1998 and 2010 – all ended by knockout defeats to Brazil.
