Diego Armando Maradona believes Chile deserved to knock Brazil out and Colombia are one of the best sides in the World Cup.

The Argentina and Napoli legend has never been one to keep his opinion to himself and spoke to reporters after the Seleçao scraped through to the quarter-finals on penalties.

“Brazil finished the game on their knees, without attacking. They did not deserve to reach penalties. I was hugely disappointed in them.

“Neymar had physical problems and disappeared in the second half. To be honest, Chile deserved to go through.”

Now Brazil face Colombia in the quarter-finals, as Los Cafeteros swept Uruguay aside 2-0 with a James Rodriguez brace.

“Today Colombia have an exciting and mobile style of football. You can tell they are hungry for glory and their lads run hard. I’m not saying they are a force in this World Cup, but if they continue like this, then watch out.

“James Rodriguez dictates the tempo in attack and possession, while also giving as good as he gets physically.

“We had talked about the World Cup of Messi and Neymar, but a certain James Rodriguez appeared…”

The Colombian, who plays his club football for Monaco, is currently top scorer in the tournament with five goals in four games.
