The two clubs had been discussing an exchange deal, but SportMediaset and La Gazzetta dello Sport both claim the moves will now be separate.

Matri is due to join Genoa on a one-season loan, after he spent the last six months at Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”9″>Fiorentina, having failed to make an impact in the Rossoneri jersey.

It was a poor return for Milan’s €11m investment in Matri a year ago.

Meanwhile, negotiations will continue for Vrsaljko, Genoa’s 22-year-old Croatia international defender.
