Alberto Gilardino has commented on how familiar faces at Guangzhou Evergrande will help him adapt to life in China.

The Italy international recently completed a move out to the Chinese Super League outfit, where he will work under former Azzurri Coach Marcello Lippi, and pair up once more with former Bologna teammate Alessandro Diamanti.

“I have known the coaching staff of Lippi’s very well and then I also know Alessandro Diamanti, and this will ease my acclimatisation,” Gilardino has told Sky Sport Italia today.

“I arrive here during a period in which I had stopped, I will need a little time to find my form, whilst I will work hard to be able to lend a hand to my teammates.

“I hope to be available soon and to score goals.”
