Gary Medel’s agent confirmed he is in Cardiff “discussing the details” of his imminent transfer to Inter.
Fernando Felicevich spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport this afternoon and said a move could be completed within hours.
“We are on a mission in Cardiff and I can say that at this moment negotiations are on-going. We are discussing the details of the affair.”
It had also been reported that Medel was prepared to put in €560,000 of his own money to help the transfer go through.
According to Chilean newspaper El Mercurio, the defender will pay that sum – matched by Inter – to reach Cardiff City’s asking price of €12m (£10m).
It was claimed yesterday Inter had in fact offered only €7m plus another €2m in performance-related bonuses.
Medel has long agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri, a four-year contract worth €1.8m per season.
