Quartet await Europa League draw

Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter and Torino are in the pots as Italy’s representatives for today’s Europa League Group stage draw.

The draw is held today at 12 noon UK time and will place 48 teams qualified into 12 groups of four.

Clubs are split into four seeding pots based on club coefficients, and each of the 12 groups will contain one club from each seeding pot, whilst clubs from the same country cannot be drawn against each other.

Napoli, who are in this competition after defeat in the Champions League Play-off round to Athletic Bilbao are in the highest seeded Pot 1.

They are joined by Fiorentina, who enter the competition at this stage thanks to last year’s fourth place in Serie A.

Also in Pot 1 are Inter, who safely navigated their way through the Play-off round last night with 9-0 aggregate win over Stjarnan.

Torino, who similarly came through the Play-off round with a closer 1-0 aggregate win over RNK Split, are placed in Pot 3, in what is their first venture into European football for 20 years.
