Roberto Donadoni believes carelessness was to blame for Parma’s 4-2 defeat at Udinese on Monday.

The Gialloblu took the lead through Jose Mauri and managed to temporarily stunt a Zebrette comeback thanks to a Panenka penalty from Antonio Cassano, but they were ultimately undone by Andrea Stramaccioni’s outfit in the second half.

Speaking after the match, the Ducali’s Coach lamented his side’s collapse and urged his players to revert back to the drawing board and rediscover their self-belief.

“The game was played well from a performance point of view. Udinese had five opportunities and scored four times, so our carelessness cost us,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have not been good enough, and we must take advantage of our opportunities next time.

“We took Udinese for granted too easily, and there were situations which we should’ve handled better.

“We must get back on track by working hard and believing in ourselves, because a team like ours have missed out on many points.

“Our game plan was carried out well. This gives us some solace, but it makes us realise that we must do more.

“We must be careful in certain individual situations and I'm referring to the dismissal of [Afriyie] Acquah. He was too naïve.”
