Galatasaray boss Cesare Prandelli said Antonio Conte “is the right man for this Italy” after taking over.
Prandelli resigned after a first round exit in the 2014 World Cup and was replaced by Conte in August.
“Conte was the best Coach in Serie A over the last three years and I think he is the right man for this Italy,” Prandelli told Sky Sport Italia this evening.
“There is a lot of enthusiasm and that is good for Italian football, but I continue to think people should talk about the Nazionale only occasionally. Italian football would benefit from that.”
Prandelli is taking part in the Champions League as Coach of Galatasaray.
