The authorities in Cesena have been continuing their investigation for several years and more evidence was presented late on Friday.

So far the details of this evidence are sketchy, but several news agencies report one or more of Sassuolo’s games are being investigated, while some fixtures examined go back to 2007.

They analysed 200 devices including computers, smartphones and tablets, searching for certain key words that would flag up potential conversations about matches.

Some players, including Lazio captain Stefano Mauri, ex-Pescara player Ivan Tisci and former Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”11″>Fiorentina defender Mauro Bressan, refused to give the authorities the PIN numbers to examine their phones in depth.

Strangely, the authorities failed to analyse the devices of one figure named Luca Burini who worked in China for 20 years because “the language was unknown even to Google Translate.”
