Napoli have reportedly set an agreement in place with Lorenzo Insigne to extend his contract through to June 2019.

The Vesuviani have been seen as in negotiations with the playmaker for a number of months over an improved and extended deal.

These talks are primarily understood to be the result of President Aurelio De Laurentiis’ ambition to commit the 23-year-old long-term to the club.

Whilst Insigne only signed a five-year deal last year, the movie mogul’s intention is to extend his deal year on year, to bypass the fact five years is the maximum limit he can sign the player to.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, this approach has the club with an agreement already in place to extend Insigne’s deal through to June 2019, with economic adjustment also to be included.

Talks on finalising this agreement are apparently due to take place once De Laurentiis returns from his latest trip out to the United States.
