Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has sprained his knee with probable ligament damage, confirmed the club.
He was carried off the field during today’s 1-0 win away to Fiorentina, having landed awkwardly to sprain his leg.
“Insigne has sprained his right knee with ligament damage. Tomorrow morning he will undergo the necessary tests,” read a statement.
It remains to be seen how serious this injury is, but Insigne is certainly ruled out of international duty for Italy’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Croatia.
It is also unlikely that even with a best case scenario he will be able to play again before the Christmas break.
