Cagliari’s Albin Ekdal has been recognised as the best Swedish midfielder for the second year in a row.

The 25-year-old had already won the prize in 2013, succeeding Kim Kallstrom at the Footballsgalan, the ceremony that traditionally gives out awards to the best Swedish performers of the year.

And this year Ekdal has done it again, being voted ahead of Olympiacos’ Jimmy Durmaz and Malmo’s Emil Forsberg.
