Napoli Coach Rafael Benitez may have moved closer to a new deal with the club, it has been reported.
The Spaniard’s current contract expires at the end of this campaign, and the tactician is said to have already rejected two new deals offered by President Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Rumours are also linking the former Liverpool and Chelsea manager with a return to the English Premier League.
However, Neapolitan newspaper Il Mattino today reports that Benitez could yet stay at San Paolo for one more season.
According to the newspaper, Benitez has his eye on the Spanish national team job, and would accept another year in Naples were he to be given the chance to mould the team in his image.
The two parties are expected to meet after December’s Super Cup in Doha.
