Albanian oil baron Rezart Taci has distanced himself from reports linking him with a takeover bid at Parma.

Taci has been linked with a buy-out of the Ducali all this week, with reports suggesting he was negotiating purchase of a controlling stake from current President Tommaso Ghirardi.

However, during Teleducato’s programme Calcio & Calcio Più yesterday, journalist Michele Angella read out a statement from the businessman’s spokesperson Milton Nushi, denying any interest in taking over at Tardini.

“We want to offer clarification on the rumours that Rezart Taci is interested in Parma,” the statement read.

“It's all speculation, invention. None of it is true.

“Mr. Taci has not expressed any interest nor has he initiated any negotiations.”

The news will come as a boost to several other parties believed to be interested in taking over the club, including coffee magnate Massimo Zanetti and Leyton Orient owner Francesco Becchetti.
