Torino step up Giovinco talks

Fabio Quagliarella faces Juventus in the Turin Derby today, but Sebastian Giovinco could soon join him.

The Derby della Mole kicks off at 17.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

There are several ex-Juve faces in the Granata squad this evening, including Quagliarella, Amauri, Emiliano Moretti and the injured Antonio Nocerino.

Giovinco is still wearing the Bianconeri jersey, but mainly as a spectator, as he is struggling to get into the team.

With his contract set to expire in June, Juve cannot afford to lose him on a free transfer, so a January exit seems almost inevitable.

This week the Atomic Ant’s agent denied contact with Napoli, while Arsenal remain an option overseas.

The club most consistently linked with Giovinco in January are Torino and according to Tuttosport the negotiations will intensify around today’s match at the Juventus Stadium.

Giovinco has played only 176 minutes in four Serie A games this season, plus seven minutes in three Champions League appearances.

Nonetheless, he is still given playing time by Italy Coach Antonio Conte.
